Writing, Stories and Meaning Sustain Us in Difficult Times

I know we're all feeling a spectrum of emotions. I've felt exhaustion, despondency, I've fallen into a news addiction, reading headlines every hour on the hour, observing everyone around me, just trying to figure out what's going on. However I know I feel my best when I reach out and connect to others in a caring way. That fires me up. And then I feel especially excited when I connect back to my vision, creativity and productivity. That fills me with hope.

If we start to limit what's possible for us, that changes our behavior. Don't I know it. It's funny, that always makes me think of Walt Disney because he grew the Disney empire during The Great Depression in the United States. It took him years of focus throughout the 1930s to create Snow White, the first trailblazing animated film. It finally primiered in 1937 and people flocked to it. That was the beginning of so much and it generated millions for Walt Disney's burgeoning vision, in a time when you might think that people only needed food.

We need soul connections. And it's actually projects such as these that provide for people at an emotional level that thrive during difficult times. Writing, hope, art, stories, and meaning are extremely important.

Global economic history consistently shows, it's not just toilet paper companies that underpin a struggling economy in times like these. What I mean to say is, keep chasing your dreams! It's actually practical from an economic perspective. This is a wonderful time to move forward!

This week I wanted to send out two gifts. First the entire "Walt Disney: PBS American Experience Documentary," it's free on this platform that I'd never heard of before. So maybe it will try and take some pressure off of Netflix! Just trying to do my part. Hahaha!
